WHAT I BELIEVE…

EDUCATION

I am a strong advocate for local control of our schools.  I am opposed to any federal
mandates that impose national standards, national curriculum, national testing, and a national
database upon our local schools.  Our classrooms must never become laboratories for social
engineering.

CITIZENS RIGHTS

I believe in “the right of the people to keep and bear arms.”  Our citizens have the right to
protect themselves, their families and their property.   I will oppose any initiative that
attempts to limit the right of honest hard working Oklahomans to own firearms.

I will join the fight against the ever increasing encroachment of the federal government into
our daily lives, such as National Health Care.  I am a strong pro-life conservative.  Life begins
at conception and I will stand up for the rights of the unborn.

TAXES & BUDGET

  • Fiscally conservative approach to state government.  The state budget should keep
    taxes low and control spending.
  • Every citizen is entitled to the fruits of their labor.
  • Our children and grandchildren should inherit a state and a country that does not tax
    them into poverty.

VETERAN’S ISSUES

  • A strong advocate for all veterans.  Those who have sacrificed for our nation must
    receive the care they have earned.
  • I will stand up for the Vietnam veteran.  They were forgotten once and I will make sure
    that never happens again.
  • I will make sure the needs of our citizen soldiers (the guard and reserve) and the
    needs of their families are met.

BUSINESS & ECONOMY

  • Small business is the backbone of our state’s economy and is the engine that drives our economic system.  I will do everything I can to support small business growth.
  • Prosperity comes not from wealth redistribution, but from wealth creation.
  • The government must never be in the business of picking winners and losers.  The playing field must be level so that all have an equal opportunity for success.
  • Help create a business friendly atmosphere through real workers comp reform and comprehensive tort reform.
